Michael Phelps dropped the 200-meter freestyle event. Will fellow American Ryan Lochte clinch another gold medal Monday night?

American Ryan Lochte attempts a second gold medal tonight at the 2012 London Olympics. On Monday night at 8 p.m. EST Lochte will swim the 200-meter freestyle event. The Associated Press reports Lochte faces tough international competition: Sun Yang of China, Park Tae-hwan of South Korea, Yannick Agnel of France and the current world record holder Paul Biedermann of Germany.

Numerous media outlets contend Lochte’s attempt at the gold for the 200-meter freestyle is his longest yet — especially since France’s Agnel beat Lochte at the 4x100 freestyle relay on Sunday. France took home gold while Lochte and Phelps took home silver.

Friday night's Olympic Opening Ceremony sets ratings records >>

The Huffington Post reports Lochte and Sun Yang were the top two swimmers on Sunday during the 200-meter freestyle qualifying event: Sun Yang came in at 1 minute, 46.24 seconds but Lochte "dragged" behind at 1 minute 46.45 seconds. Agnel was just behind Lochte with 1 minute, 46.60 seconds. Even in the face of tight competition, Ryan Lochte didn’t seem stressed when asked about his qualifying times. "I didn’t go to bed until like 2 a.m., so I am a little tired, but it was a prelims swim, so I’m not too worried about it."

The 27-year-old Lochte currently holds eight Olympic medals: four gold, two silver and two bronze. Most experts agree tonight's 200-meter freestyle race will likely be a stand-off between Lochte and Agnel. Lochte has won two medals so far at the 2012 London Olympics: a gold medal in the 400-meter individual medley and a silver in the 4x100 relay.

2012 London Olympics -- day 2 highlights

Major surprises in swimming and gymnastics shocked fans on Sunday during the 2012 London Olympic Games. We break down the best -- and the worst -- surprises of the day.

Recap of Day 2 of the 2012 London OlympicsSunday was another busy day at the 2012 London Olympics. We recap the best of the events that took place on July 29, 2012 to get you caught up on all the recent Olympic happenings.

Woman’s Gymnastics: Team qualifying upset

The U.S. Women’s Team nabbed the top spot at this event followed by Russia, China, Romania, Britain, Japan, Italy and Canada. However, gold-medal favorite Jordyn Wieber failed to qualify for the all-around competition. She came in fourth behind fellow teammates Aly Raisman and Gabrielle Douglas. Wieber was billed as the American favorite for the all-around gold medal.

ABC News reports the U.S. Women’s Gymnastics team coach was clearly upset. "We have always known
the two per country rule, we are not crying of spilt milk, yet it makes it difficult to explain how the fourth best AA finisher, the former world champion, does not get a shot at fulfilling her dream, just because her country happens to be incredibly strong," said coach John Geddert.

The Olympic rules state only two members per team may qualify for the all-around competition. Since Wieber’s teammates -- Raisman and Douglas -- scored higher marks than her, she cannot compete regardless of her score. Gabrielle Douglas is now considered the favorite to medal.

Viktoria Komova from Russia placed first in the all-around qualifying event.

The next woman’s gymnastics event is Tuesday, July 31, 2012. The all-around competition is Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2012.

Men’s Swimming: 4x100 relay shocker

It was a shocking end to an extremely close race as U.S. swimmer Ryan Lochte couldn’t maintain his lead over the French. NBC News reports the French’s gold medal win was "redemption" for their 2008 loss when the U.S. came from behind to place first and pushed the French to a silver medal. Ryan Lochte and Michael Phelps both took home silver medals for this race.

Women’s Swimming: Wardrobe malfunction

U.S. swimmer Dana Vollmer brought home a gold medal on Sunday in the 100-meter breaststroke. She suffered a significant wardrobe malfunction when her swim cap came off in the middle of the race. The 24-year-old also set a world record with a time of 55.98 and became the first woman to swim the event in under 56 seconds. Her gold medal win is even more impressive given her serious heart condition.

Jeah! Hottie Olympian Ryan Lochte is a mama's boy

Ryan Lochte is -- hands down -- the star of the 2012 Summer Olympic Games. We know he's hot, but did you know he's a mama's boy, too?

Ryan Lochte loves his momMichael Phelps was the definite star of the 2008 Summer Olympic Games, but 2012 belongs to another swimmer: Ryan Lochte. The 27-year-old New York-born, Florida-raised swimmer is all the rage with swimming fans — and the ladies, of course.

However, the 400-meter individual medley gold medalist only has eyes for his mom right now — according to her, of course.

"He's too busy! He's so warmhearted that I don't think he'd want to have a relationship with somebody," his mom, Ileana "Ike" Lochte told US Weekly over the weekend. "I don't think he wants to get into a relationship."

The hip-hop-loving swimmer is close to his mom — he credits his mom, nicknamed "Ike," with his swimming talent. The love is mutual, of course.

"As a mom, I'm trying not to cry! I get to see my child's face all over the place," she added to US Weekly of his popularity at the Games. "I want to kiss the billboards when I see them and say, 'Oh, I love you!'"

However, she told NBC Miami earlier this year that she's worried her son is missing out on life because of swimming.

"…You work so hard to get your kids to fulfill their goals, and sometimes they don't realize it until they’re older, and now he’s realizing how much we’ve given up,” she said.

It doesn't sound like Lochte's missing out on too much: He's known among teammates for his goofy personality and love of rap music — he always wears a custom "grill" over his teeth while accepting his metals. The buff swimmer is also known for his signature catchword "jeah!" — it's caught on with fans and appears on his warm-up jackets.

His biggest downfall, according to his mother, is his easygoing personality.

"Sometimes you want to kill him! He's a little too laid-back sometimes," she joked over the weekend. "Sometimes I just want to shake him and say, 'Do you get it?'"

Lochte does: He gave up a lead in Sunday's 4x100 free relay, giving France the gold. Monday's 200 freestyle wasn't much better — he finished in fourth place.

"Not so happy about that swim tonight... you live and learn. Tomorrow I will be better," Lochte tweeted on Monday afternoon.

We're pulling for you, Ryan!

You're golden with gold medalist Ryan Lochte if you wear white jeans, apparently. It also helps if you're Carmen Electra.

Ryan Lochte white jeans

Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte has been busy winning medals and making women swoon. But he took time out of his packed schedule to discuss what makes him swoon about the ladies.

The 27-year-old "Hottest Guy of the Olympics" told Women's Health that he thinks women look hottest in one of his button-down shirts.

"And that's all," he added.

Yawn. That's not such an exotic fantasy, right?

But then Ryan went and surprised us.

His "second sexiest" piece of clothing on a woman? White jeans.

Yes. White. Jeans. This sounds like a fashion faux pas just waiting to happen . It also sounds like it has all the makings of a nightmare story involving a.) tween girls and their first period or b.) ANY product or substance that isn't white -- from salsa to coffee to chocolate.

Beyond offering sucky fashion advice, Ryan also alienated a nation of women by revealing his celebrity crush: Carmen Electra.

Of course, he also said sexy women always "keep a fit body," and revealed how his fit body sleeps "mostly naked."

If he had one "superpower" , it would be to channel the sweet, charming Mel Gibson in What Women Want. You remember? The character who reads "women's minds."

"It's impossible to know what they're thinking," Lochte reasoned, when asked about what confuses him about the opposite sex.

We can guess what women are thinking about. Two words: Ryan. Lochte.

Missy Franklin goes for swimming gold tonight

Gold-medalist Missy Franklin hopes for her second gold medal tonight. This time, she is doing it with her team in the 4x200 relay.

Missy FranklinJust one day after competing against each other, United States teammates Missy Franklin and Allison Schmitt will pair up tonight in the women’s 4x200 relay.

“Tonight on NBC, Missy Franklin looks to earn her second gold medal -- third medal overall,” said a rep for the network.

Franklin has already won the gold medal in the women’s 100-meter backstroke and hopes to win her second gold tonight.

Franklin and Schmitt will be joined by swimmers Dana Vollmer and Shannon Vreeland. Vollmer has also already won a gold medal in 2012’s London Games. According to the Yahoo! Sports, she is also the training partner of Michael Phelps.

Men’s swimmer Michael Phelps and the rest of the U.S. men’s swimming team won the gold medal in the men’s 4x200 relay on Tuesday night.

Phelps and teammate Ryan Lochte also return to the pool tomorrow night in the 200-meter individual medley. But this time, they will once again be competitors. And this will be quite the competition.

“Phelps is the reigning Olympic champion and Lochte is the reigning world champion and current world record holder,” said NBC. “Phelps nipped Lochte by less than a tenth of a second at Trials.”

This will be the second time Lochte and Phelps will be competing during the London games, a competition Lochte won last time. Phelps may have an advantage this time, as Lochte has another race, the 200-meter backstroke, just 30-minutes before the medley.

However, if he does well, the races could lead to a great birthday present to Ryan Lochte, who turns 28 on Friday.

Missy Franklin will also be competing tomorrow in the 100-meter freestyle. The 17-year-old swimmer is competing for a total of seven events in this Olympics. Tonight’s event will be her fourth.

With three medals out of those four events, Franklin is sure to be the new hot name for the future of United States swimming.

Ryan Lochte "only has one-night stands," says mom

Ryan Lochte might not have time for a girlfriend, but he does have time for short-term relationships! Find out what his mom had to say about his sexual prowess.

Ryan Lochte likes one-night stands, says his mom

Moms say the darndest things. Just ask Olympic champ Ryan Lochte: His mom, Ileana "Ike" Lochte, told reporters that her son eschews long-term relationships for much shorter relationships — the ones that last for one night.

"He goes out on one-night stands," she told Matt Lauer on NBC's Today show. "He’s not able to give fully to a relationship because he’s always on the go."

Now, it might seem like she's encouraging her son's promiscuity, but it's more likely she just doesn't quite understand how that phrase fits into our culture. Plus, she's from Cuba and English is likely her second language.

Michael Phelps vs Ryan Lochte: Who's the hotter swimmer? >>

At least we know which parent gave Ryan his charming personality. It seems like Ike is more than content to keep her son to herself, based on some other comments she made about her son's relationships.

"He's too busy! He's so warmhearted that I don't think he'd want to have a relationship with somebody," she told US Weekly over the weekend. "I don't think he wants to get into a relationship."

Not right now, at least. The swimmer — who likes his women in his button-down shirts and not much else — said he's glad he doesn't have a girlfriend during these Games, especially since "70 to 75 percent" of athletes have sex with each other in Olympic Village.

"My last Olympics, I had a girlfriend — big mistake," Lochte told ESPN The Magazine before the Games. "Now I'm single, so London should be really good. I'm excited."

Basically, he's going to come back to the States satisfied... in more ways than one.

Ryan Lochte's one-night stands? Dear mom got it twisted

Ryan Lochte wants the ladies of the world to know that despite what his mom said, he's no wham-bam-thank-you-ma'am kind of player. One-night stands? Never!

Ryan Lochte one-night stands

Ryan Lochte's one-night stand kind of man reputation is up for debate. Though the Olympic swimmer's mom told the press a quick dinner and shag is all her son has time for as a professional athlete, he's speaking out to insist otherwise. Don't get scared away yet, ladies!

Ike Lochte, Ryan Lochte's mom, told reporters during an NBC Today show interview, "He goes out on one-night stands," sending viewers into a tizzy. "He’s not able to give fully to a relationship because he’s always on the go."

Apparently, what she meant to say however, is her 28-year-old swimming phenom of a son goes out on dates.

Wanna bed Ryan Lochte? Wear white jeans >>

"They took it out of context. My mom is really new to all of this and the media," Ryan Lochte told Us Weekly while attempting to clear up his reputation. "She meant since the last four years I just wanted to focus on swimming, and I didn't really have time for a relationship."

"When I'm in a relationship, I want to give that person my entire heart and I wasn't able to ever do that because of swimming. I'm always on the go. So what she meant is that I do go out on dates," Ryan Lochte continued. "But it's not that thing that everyone is talking about, because that's not me. I've never done that and never have been like that, so I don't want people to think that about me."

So is the "ladies man" label not a good fit then? "Well, I love ladies!" he confirmed with a laughing reply.

Jeah! Hottie Olympian Ryan Lochte is a mama's boy >>

Luckily for ladies dreaming of some Lochte love, the 11-time Olympic gold medalist now has a bit more time to spare. Ryan Lochte's 2012 Summer Games experience came to a close on Thursday.

"I'm done and I'm relieved! I'm excited that the Games are over," the swimming hunk said. "The last 4 years have been really hard. I'm happy with how well I did. I'm happy with my overall performance."

Are you buying Ryan Lochte's claims he's not a one-night stand kind of man?

Olympic ratings gold: The Ryan Lochte Effect?

Even NBC has been floored by the ratings for the London Olympics. Everything from the opening ceremony to the 400-meter showdown between Ryan Lochte and Michael Phelps has shattered records for viewers. But one group of new viewers sticks out: teen girls.

Ryan Lochte effect

It's no secret the Olympics have catered toward the housewives in the square states when it comes to viewing public. But, NBC has been in for a surprise this go-around, thanks to its generating new fans among the Twitter crowd. And those fans are overwhelmingly young girls.

ESPN, by way of Colin Cowherd and his The Herd show, dissected what's behind the more than sixty percent surge in teen girls watching the Games .

Aside from the economy and record-breaking heat keeping more people at home on their sofas, Cowherd also noted young tweeps are tuning in courtesy of less their love for the peacock network and more their hate for its tape delays and spoiler snafus.

NBC's spoiler "oops" >>

Indeed, NBC is reporting Friday morning that its digital traffic and engagement for this year's Games has been "unprecedented."

Going down the line, everything from total streamed videos to page views is up by triple digits over 2008's Beijing Games.

But that still doesn't explain how teen girls' viewing habits are so outside the norm this year.

After all, Cowherd noted Friday morning that, while ratings among girls are up more than 60 percent, among teen guys, the increase isn't even in the double digits.

Cowherd, a female ESPN colleague and anyone with good vision, attribute this phenomenon to "The Lochte Effect."

White jeans + Carmen Electra = Ryan Lochte's fantasy >>

Add one gorgeous, extremely confident medalist into the Games mix -- courtesy of one Ryan Lochte -- and you have ratings gold among the tween girl set!

Maybe NBC should be sending Lochte, the source of every girl's fantasy, a thank-you card or something, because it looks like for the first time in the recent history of the Games, the peacock may break even instead of hemorrhaging millions of dollars in money that could have been invested in improving the quality of their programming lineup for the rest of the year.

Love it or hate it, you have to admit that tattoos are part of our culture. Countless celebrities have tats, as do athletes. We're getting to see the ink of our favorite Olympic athletes up-close and personal during the 2012 Olympic Games, thanks to their skimpy outfits.

Misty May-Treanor

Volleyball champ Misty May-Treanor has a prominent tattoo of the Roman number five on her lower back — and fans wanted to know what it means after seeing it during competition. It's actually a homage to her Jersey number — five — from her days playing at Cal State Long Beach.

She doesn't mind showing off her tat in a skimpy outfit. In fact, she prefers it that way.

"What you see is what you get — there’s no airbrushing," she said earlier this year. "I grew up on the beach, grew up in a bikini.”

Missy Franklin

Four-time gold medalist Missy Franklin doesn't have a tattoo, yet — but she will once she returns home from the Olympics.

"After London, I'll get my one and only tattoo, the Olympic rings," she told US Weekly last week.

"I've seen them on all the other athletes, and it's so cool," she added to Reuters. "I've used it as my motivation, because it's the only tattoo I'm going to get."

Franklin is only 17, so she'll need her parent's permission to get that ink. Are they down with the permanent artwork? "My parents are fine with it," she said. "They're just as excited as I am."

Maybe Franklin got the idea from some of her Team U.S.A. cohorts: Both Ryan Lochte and Michael Phelps have Olympic rings as their ink of choice. They're hardly the only ones with the tattoo, though: Quite a few Olympic athletes rock the look somewhere on their bodies: Swimmer Dana Vollmer has one on her lower back, while archery champ Khatuna Lorig has one on her right forearm.

Gabby Douglas' mother is thrilled that her daughter won two Olympic gold medals. The road to the Olympics wasn't always so easy, though: Her mom faced severe financial problems. The story is not as uncommon as you might think.

Gabby Douglas' mom filed for bankruptcy

Gabby Douglas is riding high now, thanks to her two gold medal wins at the 2012 Summer Olympics. However, that wasn't always the case: Her dad, Air Force Staff Sgt. Timothy Douglas, left her mother scrambling to pay the bills to support her daughter's talent.

"It was hard for us growing up — my dad had left us, so he wasn’t really in the picture anymore. So, my mom had to front all these bills. My dad didn't really pay the child support. He was short ," Douglas said this week. "It was definitely hard on my mom, taking care of me and my siblings."

The financial hardships led the 16-year-old's mother, Natalie Hawkins, to file for bankruptcy. The filings — uncovered by TMZ — showed Hawkins with assets of $163,706 and debts of $80,000. Her income was listed at about $2,500 a month.

Hawkins isn't ashamed of her past.

"It's my story, it's part of me. I'm not even embarrassed about it," she said Sunday from London. "It shows that even though I didn't like to have to do it, I'm glad there was something there for me to be able to protect my home."

She won't have to worry about money much longer: Companies are lining up to give the bubbly gymnast endorsement deals, including a Kellogg's cover, that could net her as much as $8 million to $12 million over the next four years, according to ESPN.

However, Gabby's not the only Olympic athlete to have money worries — far from it. It makes their ascents to the top all the more remarkable.

Ryan Lochte

Ryan Lochte might have a penchant for diamond grills and designer clothes, but his hilarious mother, Illeana "Ike" Lochte, isn't in such a great financial condition: She's about to lose her Florida home to foreclosure. TMZ also uncovered documents showing that Ike and her now ex-husband, Steve Lochte, defaulted on their $258,000 mortgage loan from Citibank.

The divorced Lochtes are "taking care" of the debt, according to spokeswoman Erika Wright.

Olympic Ink: Misty May-Treanor and other athlete tattoos >>

"After her divorce, Ike fell into financial strain like many people in America can understand when the economy went south," Wright told BuzzFeed in an email. "She did not want to involve her children in her personal matters and did not disclose the extent of the situation to avoid them worrying."

The one thing Ike won't do? Ask her Olympic champ son for help.

"She has since refused to accept financial assistance from her children because she wants to do what she can as a woman, mother and adult to handle her own matters without taking money from her kids," Wright wrote. "It's a shame that the media had to exploit her own personal problems to gain attention at her expense simply because her son is in the news. However she is in the process of taking care of the matter as evidenced by the filing of a motion to dismiss."

Sarah Robles

Powerlifter Sarah Robles made headlines before the Olympics when it was revealed she was struggling to find a sponsor to help her get to the London Summer Games. Worse? She was only living on about $400 a month, thanks to her grueling training schedule.

Balancing motherhood and the Olympics >>

"You can get that sponsorship if you’re a super-built guy or a girl who looks good in a bikini. But not if you’re a girl who’s built like a guy,” she told BuzzFeed in early July. The 275-pound lifter can lift upward of 568 pounds.

Fans petitioned companies such as Nike to sponsor Robles, but web company Solve Media eventually came forward in mid-July to help send her to London.

Michael Phelps and Ryan Lochte: TV stars?

Ryan Lochte and Michael Phelps are hot commodities right now and are looking towards what is next. For both swimmers, the possibilities are endless.

Phelps LochteFor Olympic gold medalists, what is life like after the Olympics? For swimmer Ryan Lochte, it looks like his life can be anything he wants.

The 28-year-old has nine endorsement deals with companies like Speedo, Gatorade, Ralph Lauren and Gillette, said the Hollywood Reporter. “And Fortune has estimated his 2012 endorsement earnings at $2.3 million."

Lochte’s agent, Erika Wright, also said that Lochte has received multiple offers to appear on TV.

"Two different reality show concepts have been offered and one additional is being discussed," Wright said.

She added that Will Ferrell has asked Lochte to appear in a Funny or Die video with him when he returns home.

"He has no issues whatsoever with regard to endorsements,” Wright told The Hollywood Reporter. “I can say things have been quite busy for team Lochte, heating up fast and furious since the Olympics."

Lochte has said he plans to move to Los Angeles after the London Games.

Meanwhile, Lochte’s teammate Michael Phelps also has plans after the Olympics.

TMZ spoke with an unnamed NBC executive who reportedly said they would love for Phelps to come back as an Olympic commentator in the 2016 Olympics.

"The man is smoking hot right now,” the executive said. “[We] would definitely hire Michael."

An ABC source also told TMZ that even though they don't carry the Olympics, they would find a place for the swimmer.

"If he would, we would gladly scoop him up to work for us," said the source.

NBC has the Olympic rights until 2020 but ABC airs other sports programs and Phelps is a hot commodity right now.

The International Business Times Reports that there are rumors Phelps has received numerous offers from other companies, starting a bidding war between the networks.

Even though at least one of their Olympic careers is coming to an end, both Phelps and Lochte have bright futures ahead of them, no matter which direction they decide to go.

Who is that woman on Ryan Lochte's lap?

The swimmer was caught headed out for a night on the town with an unidentified girl on his lap. Did he follow Michael Phelps to the world of coupledom?

Ryan LochteSwimmer Ryan Lochte may find he will be returning home from the Olympics as one of America’s most eligible bachelors.

So when photographers caught him riding in a car with a woman on his lap, everyone took notice.

We’ve already lost Michael Phelps, can’t Ryan Lochte humor us for a little while longer?

The woman was on the lap of the swimmer in the back of the car on their way to a nightclub, along with other passengers in the car.

She was identified as 31-year-old Megan Torrini, and some websites ran with it. According to Buzzfeed.com, the site SportsGrid was one such offender.

"SportsGrid, for instance, had linked Mrs. Torrini and her showy shirt to the swimming star after pictures were released on them goofing around in the backseat of a car with some friends,” said the Associated Press.

But then someone decided to do a little more digging. Turns out Megan Torrini is actually Megan Lochte Torrini.

As in, Ryan’s sister Megan.

“Sometimes a girl sitting on the lap of America's most eligible bachelor is there because there's no room in the car,” said the AP, “not because she's an aspiring model looking for a career break.”

Buzzfeed points out that the media who did run with the story must feel foolish now, because of the things they said. The site posted a picture which had been on TMZ.com with the headline “Ryan Lochte parties it up in London – breaststroke anyone?” and the caption “Nothing says party time like a pair of boobs in your face.”

The sites that reported this may have caused a heart attack among female Olympic fans everywhere, but at least we know the truth now.

And if it’s any consolation, we learned he is close with his family. One day we will get the report of Lochte’s new girlfriend, but for now, we will still call him an eligible bachelor.

Buzzfeed.com says Lochte’s rep names the other girl in the car as the swimmer's stylist.

We all died a little inside when Olympic gold medal winner Ryan Lochte admitted to Ryan Seacrest that he pees in the competition pool.

Who's that woman in Ryan Lochte's lap? >>

"Of course," the 27-year-old connoisseur of Jeah! said. "I think there's just something about getting into chlorine water that you just automatically go. [I didn't] during the races, but I sure did in warm-up."

Oh. My. God.

Naturally, those comments went viral. Now, Lochte is making fun of the whole thing with a new Funny or Die video. In the "LOCHTv" clip, he jokes that he only pees in the pool — and nowhere else.

Ryan Lochte's one night stands? Dear mom got it twisted >>

"Yes, I can only pee in the pool," he cracks. "If I see a toilet, I'm definitely not peeing there."

Why pools? "Like animals, they mark their territory, I pee in the pool," Lochte says. "That's my territory."

That's not all, though: He's planning to help those less fortunate than him learn to pee in the pool. However, there's one thing he won't do: Poop in the pool, since "they shut down the whole pool" when one of those brown lumps are floating around.

What makes him such an expert in the subject? He's a gold medal urinator, of course.

"I pee gold, when I'm a little dehydrated," he jokes.

All kidding aside, Lochte told reporters that the whole pee debacle got way out on control. He's not the only one who does it, either: Michael Phelps admitted to doing it as well.

"I think everybody pees in the pool," Phelps, 27, told the Wall Street Journal. "It's kind of a normal thing to do for swimmers. When we're in the water for two hours, we don't really get out to pee."

So, exactly how much pee does a champion swimmer drink during a race? Not much, Phelps said.

"Chlorine kills it, so it's not bad."

Given his morning TV appearances in the past few days, Ryan Lochte is almost certainly dipping his foot in the reality TV pool. While The Bachelor has been floated around, the matchmaking series is competing for Lochte's affections with yet another popular TV show.

Bachelor Ryan Lochte

Ryan Lochte shared his Hollywood aspirations with Matt Lauer on Friday's Today Show.

"I definitely want to move to L.A.," the Olympic swimmer told Lauer, when asked about his segueing into a TV career. "I'm looking forward to Dancing with the Stars or The Bachelor."

Earlier this week, Lochte also told ABC's Good Morning America that, if given the choice, DWTS would be his pick.

"I definitely have to go with Dancing with the Stars, because it's a competition and I have that competitive edge in me," the 28-year-old said.

AceShowbiz is also reporting that Lochte's agent was offered two concepts for his own reality show.

"It wouldn't be your normal reality TV show because I'm definitely not your normal guy," the swimmer said, by way of the site.

While the possibility of a show customized around Lochte raises more questions than it answers, the sheer volume of athletes on these reality shows speaks volumes.

Speed skater Apolo Anton Ohno and gymnast Shawn Johnson are counted among those Olympic champs who have also strutted their stuff on Dancing with the Stars.

And, while DWTS may be Lochte's pick, The Bachelor makes more sense, according to Amy Rosenblum of media training company Media Masters.

"Ryan would make the perfect next 'Bachelor'," Rosenblum told The Huffington Post. "He has the 'it' factor.

"Especially after his mother's one-night-stand comment, everyone wants to know who is the real Ryan and what would it be like to date him. Forget dancing shows -- this guy should be doing dating shows, for sure."

Bell chimes in, "Do you have any idea how much training it takes to be on Dancing with the Stars, Ryan?" Lochte laughs her off as he casually replies, "Do you know how much training it takes to swim?"

In an earlier interview last week with Matt Lauer on The Today Show, Lochte wasn't shy about voicing his eagerness for fame. "I definitely want to move to L.A.," said Lochte to Lauer. The swimmer won gold medals and will be appearing on Hollywood TV shows. But he seems to think that the catchphrase business is where the money really is.

Ryan Lochte seeks to trademark Ryan Lochte started with so much promise.

He was the cute, down-to-earth swimmer who beat Michael Phelps at the beginning of the Olympics. He seemed like such easygoing guy.

The first sign of trouble was when he tried to wear his American-themed "grill" on the Olympic medal podium. And then came news from his mom that he doesn't date but instead only has one-night stands.

But now, it looks like Lochte may have outdone himself. He has filed papers to trademark what he calls his catchphrase.

"Ryan Lochte's annoying catchphrase ‘Jeah!’ is a friggin' GOLD MINE," said TMZ, "at least that's what the swimmer believes... because he just filed docs to lock up a trademark for the made-up word."

According to an interview with the swimmer, he made up the word based on one rapper Young Jeezy often uses. According to TMZ, the rapper's word is actually "Chea!" and he uses it in many songs. Lochte said his version of the word means something "good."

The website said the trademark filing states that Lochte wants to use the word on "sunglasses, workout DVDs, gift cards, mugs, drinking glasses, trading cards, calendars, posters, swimsuits, swim caps, sports hats and water bottles."

The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office said that Lochte applied for the trademark on Aug. 1, according to Yahoo!

The swimmer has already started selling “Jeah” tees, hats and sunglasses on his website.

Young Jeezy has not responded as to whether he will try to fight the filing or if he might even try to take a hint from Lochte and trademark his own word.

Lochte will appear on 90210 soon and may even be up for parts on The Bachelor or Dancing with the Stars.

The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has not yet approved the patent, even though Lochte is already selling all of his products.

Olympic champion Ryan Lochte and Prince Harry might have looked chummy in Las Vegas, but they definitely weren't hanging out 24/7.

"His people came over to my table and said, 'Prince Harry wants to meet you,'" Lochte said on the Today show Aug. 23. "I was like, 'Lets meet him!' I went over there. I was fully clothed, and he said, 'You wanna race me in the pool?' I took off my shirt, jumped in and we started racing."

Lochte added that he was a bit starstruck meeting the red-headed rebel.

"It was really fun swimming against Prince Harry. He's a great guy, and it was an huge honor to meet him," he told US Weekly. "I was surprised that he challenged me, actually. I didn't know if he had any skills in the pool, but I definitely wasn't going to take it easy on him! He was a great competitor, but in the end it was Team USA all the way to the wall!"

The potential future reality star hopes to compete against the Prince against in the future. "Next time I'm in the U.K., it'd be fun to challenge him to something on his own turf! Maybe Motocross? I heard he's pretty good, but I'm a competitor," Lochte said. "Prince Harry, whenever you're ready!"

Harry will have to keep his clothes on, though. The gold medalist said he wasn't there when the now-infamous game of strip billiards went down — and he's pretty happy he wasn't.

"I'm kind of happy ," he said on Today. "I don't need that."

But we really would have appreciated the view, Ryan.

Ryan Lochte's Hollywood takeover heads to The CW >>

In August, it was confirmed that Lochte would appear on an upcoming episode of The CW's 90210. He'll play himself on the show and interact with some of the major characters. Now, a new report claims he'll follow that up with a stint on NBC's 30 Rock.

Lochte told New York Magazine's The Cut about his future TV plans. "I know I have the cameo for 30 Rock in the morning, and after that, E! And then Live With Kelly. So I’m all over the place."

He recently landed a fashion reporting gig for E! to cover New York Fashion Week. It's no secret Lochte has an interesting sense of style, but can he handle the high-end frenzy? He admitted he's not fully prepared for what lies ahead.

"I’m sure I’m going to talk with them tomorrow when I meet with them and everything, and they’ll give me who I’m interviewing and what I’m going to say and stuff like that, so they’ll help me out a lot. I’m gonna be the one interviewing people, which is going to be totally weird. It’s going to be a different role, so I’m definitely gonna — it’s gonna be totally different. Usually I’m the one answering questions, not giving ‘em out, so …"

Compared to New York Fashion Week, 30 Rock and 90210 should be a breeze.
